DAY DESIGNER DAZZLE
What is is about a new planner to get people all crazy giddy??
Yep, these are just a few reasons I personally get excited about new planners. Today I’m sharing my brand new Day Designer that I have fallen in love with, and not just because it sports this snazzy Palm Leaves pattern, but, you guessed it, the POSSIBILITIES!!
And this post wouldn’t be complete without a nod to my friend Dawn at By Sun and Candlelight for sharing her lovely Day Designer ideas with me 😉
LET’S TAKE A TOUR
First of all, the Day Designer is delivered in a beautiful Tiffany Blue box that is trimmed inside with gold and white stripes.
Inside is a shiny white box with the Day Designer inside. It has a slide out drawer with a Tiffany Blue ribbon 🙂
There is a special card that gives you tips on caring for your Day Designer, strategies for living a well-designed life, and a card encouraging you to post a photo on Instagram (already did – natch 😉 ) for a chance to get your order for FREE!
After removing from the protective plastic, the Day Designer cover just shines.
It’s so sturdy and well, shiny, and I love the gold edging on each of the corners as well as the heavy duty gold coiling—this planner is built to last and hold up to much use, which it will definitely get!
Picture shot out on the pool deck, where it really shines 😉
I will be doing a lot of my planning out here as the temperatures are finally starting to cool down, under 100* every day, whew, and it’s one of my favorite places to relax and catch up in my planner.
I know I’ve missed three months of the planner already, but it was on sale and I was ready for a new format of a daily page planner rather than a week-at-a-glance style that I have been using with my Erin Condren Life Planner – which I still love, but it’s not quite the workhorse that I need it to be with home educating and working from home.
ON WITH THE TOUR
When you open the front cover there is a nice sturdy pocket for stickers, receipts, or just whatever you want to save for future reference. I think I’ll clip some magnetic book marks on it too 😉
This intro page is very basic and I like that is has a place for your name and phone number if you wanted to include that as well as a space for your yearly “word”. Kind of fun!
There are several other intro interior pages for goal setting, year-at-a-glance pages, and what I call “possibility pages” to plan out your dream schedules—as for me, my life is not that clean and neat, and tends to ebb and flow quite a bit, so I will probably save those for future planning into 2018 😉
The monthly spread boxes and side notes space are very generous. I like this as I write rather large, so I appreciate the extra room—plus it’ll be fun for adding stickers once I get into my planner deco groove 😉 I added the banner quote from one of my 365 Create MAMBI sticker books.
Here’s one of my daily pages. I love how much space there is for notes and the time slots from 5:00am to 9:00pm, it’s a great span to plan and see the daily picture of my day.
I also really love the check boxes and plenty of room to write out tasks, school plans or just notes to myself, little reminders of what needs to be done for the day.
I’m not sure how much decorating I’ll be doing in my Day Designer, but I do like colorful touches and fun, inspiring quotes that apply to my day or week.
And in the essence of “keepin’ it real”, you can see that I didn’t fill in every check box so moved those items to the next day—we did however say family rosary in the evening which is our typical time but I checked it off after I snapped this photo…life in action 😉
